Projects

Our projects have to date focused primarily on the wind and solar sectors of the renewable energy market. We pride ourselves on our extensive supply networks, partnering with top tier suppliers and contractors to execute these successfully and on time. We seek projects in mature markets across Europe backed by reliable government support. 

The Melbur wind turbine developed by AG Renewables commissioned in November 2012 is sited at the Aggregate Industries St Austell China Clay quarry in Cornwall, England.

The China Clay works is home to a number of different operations including an asphalt plant, concrete products factory and quarry plant, and sees Aggregate Industries using the aggregates removed from the china clay being used to produce Cornish granite secondary construction materials.

The EWT DW 54 500kW turbine is located in the middle of the site and supplies renewable electricity directly to the works. The turbine since its commissioning has seen over half of its electricity being used on site for the quarry operations lowering the carbon footprint of the works.

The Back Lane wind turbine developed by AG Power commissioned in June 2013 is sited at the Aggregate Industries Back Lane Quarry in Lancashire, England.

The quarry, situated off of the M6, has a number of operations on site including an asphalt plant and blockworks, produces approximately 800,000 tonnes of quarried limestone and 100,000 tonnes of asphalt each year. The facility is an important minerals facility in the north west of England, supplying construction materials to whole region in areas including construction, roads and sea defence projects.

The EWT DW54 500kW turbine sees over half of its output supply electricity directly to the quarry’s works and will offset approximately 550 tonnes of carbon emissions annually. The quarry’s emissions from electricity are typically around half of the annual emissions.
